Island visitors: Have Bug, will travel!

On a beautiful sunny day on the Seawall, it was impossible to miss the fire red, immaculately preserved VW Bug parked at 35th Street. Owner Vanessa Pineda was kind enough to share her story with Humans of Galveston:

Humans of Galveston: Tell us about your journey.

Vanessa: I came down here from Monterey, Mexico, with my boyfriend, Juan G. Morales.

Humans of Galveston: What brings y’all to the island?

Vanessa: We heard it’s so beautiful in Galveston. It’s awesome to come down because we’ve met a lot of nice people here and it’s fantastic to be here.

Humans of Galveston: Tell us about your VW Bug.

Vanessa: It’s an original 1965 Volkswagen Beetle. We really love it. We even have the antique suitcases to go with it.

Humans of Galveston: How long will you be on the island?

Vanessa: We're planning to leave in a couple of days. But we'll be back the first chance we get.
